ABAFOODS GLI ALBERI – PROTAGONISTI DELLA BIODIVERSITA

The 6th Edition of the School Contest has concluded, and this year’s theme was:
“ABAFOODS – TREES: PROTAGONISTS OF BIODIVERSITY.”

For this edition of the contest, we decided to revisit the theme of biodiversity by focusing on trees and deepening the understanding of their vital importance as a precious asset for nature and biodiversity, and the need to preserve them.

Trees are a source of biodiversity due to the many functions they perform: in addition to producing oxygen, they provide food for living beings and shelter for a large number of insects, mammals, and birds, thereby increasing the variety of life forms.

Moreover, thanks to their respiration and photosynthesis processes, trees help combat climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide and contribute to air purification by capturing pollutants.

Participating schools were asked to create a graphic representation (poster) with trees as the central theme.

We received many beautiful projects, which were evaluated by a panel of judges responsible for selecting the winners!
Below are the winning schools and the prize amount awarded to each, which was used to purchase school supplies.
